This is the first question a client will ask themselves when preparing to get the right trainer to help you succeed at your new lifestyle choices.
Doctors have a certain role in medicine. If you are injured they will take care of immediate surgeries or repair.
Then a tier down is usually a Physical Therapist.
There are now trainers that get a formal education in a bachelor's or master's health related field to distinguish between the top and other trainers out there in the market.
Get the tier trainer where the main top certifications are obtained as well as at least 4 years of formal education is gathered in addition to experience, to gain confidence in the knowledge that trainer has from taking over after physical therapy to going hard as in the direction of crossfit to be the best benefit the client needs. Get the trainer who uses the trifecta of a formal degree, the gold standard in medical personal training certifications and the crossfit instructor certification to give you the confidence in your trainer's ability to help.
Obviously there will be a difference between a trainer with an internet certification and exercise experience. In this case, I happened to be fortunate enough to be born into a medical family that allowed me to pursue a medical lineage. Not only will my own background in this way be useful but also in the way that I was on a path to a Special Forces Search and Rescue unit with a purpose for being physically fit. A military background in the Air Force and that type of physical training can be used to logically asses fitness.
An unfortunate brain injury that occured on active duty challenged me in ways that has to be understood by a "scan and reboot" method using formal knowledge to understand the brain and how it functions then learning how to heal to adapt.
This hidden blessing is also a major part of Flow Health's mental health aspect for an approach to addressing mental health and healing associated with certain disorders..
So on top of these things and overcoming real major challenges and deficits, I chose to remain motivated by the attitude that pushed me in the military and get the gold standard in 3 different sections of becoming an elite professional level trainer. I have now entered school to obtain my masters in physiology. I want to be very knowledgable in my profession.
I am not a scream in your face drill sergeant rep counter. I feel I am better used for those who would like a trainer with enough knowledge to keep them motivated by finding ways for clients to discover "keys" that will help them on their new journey to self-actualization. I have come up with a simple formula that people can understand from a holistic approach to life and living. It is called Flow Health! I wish to initiate you into the program with a simple "no judgement" assessment. Then I can show you how the three triangles of interaction with the program can change you in many beneficial ways.
